Unconditional Love

My mother was diagnosed Alzheimer's about eight years.  Year's before her symptoms started to appear she was high spirited, caring, active within the church, loved to shop every weekend, kept her hair and nails done at all times. She loved being around family and friends and always enjoyed cooking. My mom and dad have been married for 40 years.  After they retired he had planned for them to travel together the remaining years.  All of that changed after she was given her fate.  As the years have gone by my dad has shown me with unconditional love is.  Throughout the years he has been her husband, friend, teacher, and caretaker (I'm sure there is so much more).  Although her mind is of a 4 to 6 year old at times, he is always patient and reminds her of the love that they have shared.  As he repeats this story to her for what seems like the millionth time, it seems as if it's her first time hearing it.
